Genuinely Speaking

We may like to think we are 100% genuine, but probably more than half of our own makeup is gathered from imitating someone else; a teacher; mentor; friend. That is why it is important that we choose carefully who we associate with. Find good models of conduct. Study them with great care. If we roll around in the red clay of Georgia, we will wind up with red clay on our clothes. Be alert and ready to learn. Our roots can drink in precious water or poisons that may kill us or make us very sick, so be careful what soil you place your roots into. If you seek to mirror Buddha or Lao-Tzu, you have chosen wisely. Of course, we cannot be the perfect mirror, but we can reflect their values and teachings.
