Throw Out The Buddha
Sometimes in our practice we may feel bogged down or that we are not living up to the ideals of Buddha or Lao-Tzu. In this case, it is best to throw out Buddha and Lao. If we can practice without the idea of expectations, we are sometimes more likely to have success without a sword of righteousness hanging over our heads. When you sit, you sit. Of course we are not actually throwing out Buddha or Lao, but we are throwing out the expectations that we build up for ourselves and then feel guilty over not achieving. Instead, just practice and do the best you can. That is success. Not measuring up somehow, just everyday practice.
