Ice and Water

July 11th, 2009 | Teachings |

There is ice and there is water. Ice can become water just as water can become ice given certain conditions. What this tells us is that there is always the opportunity for change. Even though we may feel frozen and rigid, with proper cultivation, we can learn to be free and flowing. When our mind and/or life is scattered, we can cultivate the rigidity necessary to pull things together. Cultivation comes from taking the precepts to both heart and action. By doing so, we can learn to implement the change that we need.
