Dealing With Fear

Filed under: Teachings — roshihogan @ 12:02 am

Why are people sometimes ravaged with fear? What is fear? Fear is often nothing more than knowing you have no control over a situation. Would it not be better to understand this non-control and then relax your worry? If you control something, you should have no fear since you can manipulate the outcome. We could be fearful of the Tao and its mighty, impartial force. Instead, we can understand it and then learn to make it work for us. If we try to emulate the Tao, we will find ourselves happier and more at peace. We can be proactive with some things but more often than not we are in a position of being reactive. Yin and yang react to one another and maintain balance. Fear adds nothing to the equation but the muddiness of emotion and corruption of clear thinking that accompanies it. Whatever our reaction to a situation, it must be balanced and free of fear. If something breaks, fix it or choose not to. If something is wrong, correct it. Take all emotion out of play. Be reactive like the water that tranquilly flows around the stone in its path.. Do you see? No fear, no worry. Maintain balance and you shall maintain peace.
