When Roshi Hogan was young, he had the wonderful opportunity to learn about the Tao from an old student of a Chinese Tao Master. Such was the beginning of his practice. He began to teach students about the Tao. As a result, some of his students began calling him Roshi (Japanese slang for teacher). Roshi Hogan now passes these teachings on to you. Roshi Hogan has lectured and taught meditation and Taoism to many local groups. He has also had the honor of lecturing throughout the South and the Northeastern United States, as well as internationally. A typical day for Roshi Hogan includes much time spent in meditation, prayer, reading various Taoist and Buddhist books and writing. Roshi Hogan is also a published poet and has been featured in many publications. He is also an accomplished artist and has held several solo art shows as well as participating in many art festivals and group shows. Most of his creative work these days is doing calligraphy and Taoist style.
